Getting to the stadium from the nearby railway station is very simple and takes up to 10-12 minutes depending on the means of transport you choose. Taking the line 81 bus or line 3 subway train from the Valencia Nord station is the recommended option.

The area where the Mestalla Stadium Valencia is now standing used to be agricultural land covered with fields of crops everywhere with deep water irrigation systems. That’s why when the stadium was built on that site, it was named Mestalla after the name of the famous irrigation canal.

In 1969, the name of the stadium was changed to Estadio Luis Casanova to honor the president of the Valencia Club de Futbol. However, the original name Estadio Mestalla or Mestalla Stadium Valencia came back in 1994 after the president of the club requested to revert the name.
